Maintenance Solutions Student Work Program

Your Job Is To Learn.

Explore the trades. Work with your hands. Discover where you fit.

A paid, hands-on work experience for students who want real exposure to construction and the skilled trades while learning in a professional work environment.

Learn About the Program

We're Selective. We're Not Gatekeepers.

We are particular about the students we bring into our program because job sites, clients and professional standards matter. But you do not need to arrive knowing a trade, and you do not need to have your entire career figured out.

If you enjoy working with your hands, are curious about the skilled trades and are willing to learn, the Student Work Program is designed to give you meaningful exposure to real work so you can begin discovering what interests you.

Your Job Is To Learn.

This is work, and it is a paid position. But the purpose goes beyond earning a paycheck. Students work alongside experienced professionals, see how projects come together and learn what professional construction work actually looks like.

You may enter the program unsure which trade interests you most. That's okay. Exposure is part of the point.

Real-World Exposure

  • General construction and remodeling
  • Carpentry and finish work
  • Plumbing systems
  • Electrical systems
  • Drywall, painting and finishing
  • Property repair and maintenance
  • Water mitigation and restoration
  • Job-site organization, safety and professionalism

What You'll Gain

The goal is not to turn a student into a tradesperson overnight. The goal is to provide meaningful experience, instruction and exposure.

Hands-On Experience

Learn by participating in real projects and seeing how professional work is performed.

Exposure to the Trades

See different types of construction work before deciding which direction may be right for you.

Mentorship

Learn from experienced people who can explain not only what is being done, but why.

Professional Standards

Learn punctuality, communication, job-site conduct, client respect and responsibility.

Confidence

Build confidence by learning new skills, solving problems and becoming useful on a team.

Career Perspective

Gain enough real exposure to make better decisions about training, apprenticeships and future work.

What We're Looking For

Experience is not the main requirement. Attitude, reliability and the willingness to learn matter more.

We can teach skills. We expect students to bring effort, respect and a genuine interest in learning.

  • Interest in construction or the skilled trades
  • Willingness to learn and accept instruction
  • Dependability and punctuality
  • Respectful, professional behavior
  • Ability to follow safety rules and directions
  • Willingness to work with your hands
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic
